I love my 79 GB10NT and I will never part with it, but I think I would like a bigger body Ibanez jazz guitar. I REALLY want a GB20 in player condition.. but would like to get advice from current owners about which IBZ box has the deepest, fullest sound.

Any help is appreciated!

cmangeot, i'm full of GAS for a GB20 too. you could asl callistabb about it's sound, and how it compares to a GB200 - he has these two models.
if you're searching for deep tones maybe you should try a 2455 or an L5 copy. these guitars have "less" frets and the neck pickup closer to the middle harmonic (deeper tone).
good luck... btw, how many frets has your GB? they began with 21 and changed to 22 in '79.

My GB10 has 22 frets.

I really want to have an Ibanez original design hollow body, like the FA series, or GB. 80 percent of my collection is from 1978, so I would like to stay around there. I just like the construction.

Does anyone think I will have luck finding something in player condition? I have no luck on Ebay, or gbase.

Any other ideas?

Other Ideas?

I love vintage Ibanez gits, but the price has started & kept going up on all of the really choice models, & being a poor SOB, my solution has been to look at other vintage Japanese made axes. You can still buy a lot of quality guitar for a reasonable price looking to other names on the headstock. I'm stocking up, because many of these axes are undervalued (IMO) & will be (re)discovered by the collectors before very long...it's inevitable. I am now grabbing select Univox guitars, & I have been amazed at the general quality & low price they can be had for. They seem to be almost bulletproof. I still know very little about them, really, but I now have 3 hollowbody electrics, 2 Effies & a 335 clone 12-string, and all are super players. That's bottomline for me, gotta be a sweet axe to hold & play. All were less than $300. Just my $.02 from the hinterlands of America 2007.
