I figure a large percentage of our members are dads so I thought I would share my Fathers DAy present from my two kids....I travel a LOT in this rig, pretty much live out of this car during the week and it looked it ! The inside of the car was filled with coffee cups (starbucks, my obsession), food wrappers and all sorts of crap. This car has not ever been washed and I have owned it for three years !

Well my daughter stole my car this morning and had it completely detailed. I am stunned ! Its like a new car !! Happy Fathers Day !

Dave it looks good. My car is pretty much a pig pen inside also. Maybe I can get my kids to clean it for me. Great idea!

What an awesome FD gift, Dave!

Ya know... if I'd thought about it... I might have guessed that you were a Chrysler 300 kinda guy. Easy to live in, yet reasonably economical... Perfect, for your long commute.

Now... how long do you think it'll take you to pig it up again?

I wish my kids were close enough to steal mine!

Happy Father's Day... to all of you sperm donors!

Jchester....Well you got it almost right sure its easy to live in but economical ? You ever try to feed a 340 HO 5.7 liter HEMI ? 0-60 in 5.7 seconds and around 20 miles per gallon. I have a 170 mile commute round trip EVERYDAY...you do the math....

I'm really gonna try not to "pig it up" ...so I give it a month or so.....got my eyes on a Charger anyway (6.1 liter Hemi..400 HP !)

Jeez, Dave... I figured you'd have the V-6, with all that mileage!

How often do you really NEED 0-60 in 5.7 seconds, anyway??? If you do it much, you're spending even more in tires than you are in gas!

My advise... try the V-6 on the next one. How often will you really drag race it anyway?

Oh, and the new Challenger is due out next year too. If you don't absolutely NEED four doors... the V-6, with a manual could FEEL even faster!

Personally... I prefer the Magnum. Great for haulin' stuff AND for haulin' .

Just a 30 year 'Car & Driver' subscriber's admittedly jaded opinion.
(Your mileage may vary)

Jchester...The car weighs 4,400 lbs and the v6 just doesn't cut it . I tried one and it was a friggin lead sled.
I rarely punch the thing, but when you do-whiplash ...it really jumps like a much smaller car. I had a Lincoln LS before this one with an 8 cylinder...its a real light car with great acceleration, but the HEMI rules the road....

Don't get me wrong, Dave... I like power too! Just trying to offer an alternative for your "feeding costs".

If the power is worth the gas bill, by all means, let her rip!

My V6 work/band van only gets 13 mpg & it's worse than a "lead-sled". Worst of ALL worlds (no power, no handling, & mpg). Glad I have my little Altima SE, as an alternate, & don't have your commute!

Happy Father's Day!

What is with this new censoring software anyway?

I totally missed this very important thread.

What a NICE Fathers Day idea D_g...don't fall alseep on your long commutes in that quiet ride...maybe glasspac pipes would be a nice and functional touch!

If my kids took my car to be detailed I don't think it would come back looking as good as yours - they're 4 and 5 yo. ;

Hope all of you dads had a great weekend with a little playin' time mixed in.

Best to you and yours D_g, J, Chaz et al...

ps - ask 'Freak' if he thinks Father's Day is just Hallmark Holiday...dat man is some serious (and humble) glue!!!

Strings...Funny you should say that ....2 years ago I did fall asleep at the wheel and tore the front end off that car..$17,000 in damages...my thick skull protected me......I take afternoon naps before heading home now when I'm tired

Glasspacs ? Nah...... she sounds very "throaty" with the stock system and has more than enough get up and go....

Well, that's a scary story...you now have no more than eight (and probably less) lives to spend.

The 'glasspacs' suggestion was a bit of a yoke... ; but you knew that.
