I'm looking into a 198? Alvarez DY45, ser# 37687. Anybody happen to own one of these? How does it play? I'm looking for a fairly easy/smooth player's acoustic with a fair amount of projection. And what's the $$$ range? Thanks as always -Jeff-

Jeff, that guitar is a 1987.Alvarez guitars aren't bad as far as quality goes and the value is maybe$350-450 with case.
