Just finished fixing up a Sunn Mustang (strat copy), anyone have some information on these guitars? ALl I know is that these early ones were made in India or something.

This was my first attempt at restoring a guitar, I did some things wrong, but I think the result is ok overall.

Sunn is owned by Fender since 1985.
Their guitars got slightly different headstocks after a while. I found them less interesting than Korean Squiers, but I'm spoilt with my MIJ Fender Stratocaster (made by Fuji Gen Gakki).
Fender Japan used this colour on the 1992 Squier Fender Silver Series (Hank B. Marvin model).
Hyundai uses it on their Excel.

FWIW:

I've had 2 Sunn Mustangs, both early Indian ones.

The Strat was Pearlescent White and generally well-built with decent wood, but the pickups were dreadful - really thin and sharp - real icepicks.

I also had a Precision bass, which was my first. I'f I new then what I know now, I'd still have it. It was *really* good - great neck and a really decent pickup.
