I bought Miami Vice season 1 on DVD.

Yeah, yeah, I know.

Anyway, in the episode "Smuggler's Blues", Glenn Fry guest stars as a pilot in a smuggling operation.

Crockett and Tubbs meet him for the first him in his hangar and he's wailing on a guitar that I'd swear is an Ibanez DT-250TR with the red fingerboard.

Awesome!

Hey...Miami Vice was an awesome series!..I'm born and Bred down here in North Miami, actually saw episodes filmed, and in younger days played a little game chasing down the cool spots they filmed at. I will one day own every season of this groundbreaking show. But what ever happened to Phillip Michael Thomas?:

"Total obscurity after Miami Vice ended in 1989, appearing in total tripe, thereafter.

However, was one of the first few to "embrace" the psychic tv phenomena (he advertised for a company back in the late 80's to early 90's), and only recently got paid for the commercials (rumoured to be a payout in the region of 12 million dollars)

Like Don Johnson, he also tried his hand at singing, but was rubbish (can anyone even remember the name of his album?). However, he has 5 different daughters from 3 different "girlfriends" , so that should keep him er occupied for a while.

And like most other faded and jaded heroes, he has also ended up doing voiceovers for a few PC games too...

There's life in the ol' double breasted suit yet, eh? "

That Phillip Michael Thomas record is sitting in my mum's record collection!!!! I bought it for her as a joke back in the '80's.

Cheers,

Mark

Great series! Incredible sound tracks with Phil Collins, Jan Hammer, Glen Frey, etc.

I think that was producer, Michael Mann's best TV shows. Now he's gone on to do big time movies...and thankfully, no singing.
