Jazzz, don't let this guy off easy, pursue it to the end. Call the police in his area, he's committed a crime by using the internet to steal from you. a Federal crime. I've called the police on 2 ebay deals, they went there, I got my money back, it's all how you handle the call to the police. Insust upon them that this IS a crime and you want it pursued. Ebay can/will do nothing for you. Don't even bother going that route. Sorry dude, hope it turns out well in the end. |

BOB, thnks for your advise, i will just wait till my claim settles from PAYPAY, which should be next week, i believe he will not answer the complaint, but , yes i did find out where his lives, his phone number etc and i shall call the police in his area, i have found out that he burned one other person besides me, that person contacted me, so, i will not get the IBANEZ i wanted, i will have my monies tied up for several weeks and the creep gave me bad feedback to boot, i shall report on what the police say, MAYBE A LIST OF DEADBEATS SHOULD BE POSTED SOMEWHERE???? Jazz did you get your money back yet? I've read a few threads on the ebay forums about getting burned etc. General consensus seems to be to pay for things using a credit card. and the best response as to getting your money back is to pursue a charge back through the bank that issued the your credit card. Your bank will pursue paypal for you and chances are you'll get your money back quicker. good luck. |

I like the cop idea. I believe in the Heavy Hand of Justice. Penalties should be swift and harsh. |

If you were lucky enough to raise a Paypal dispute within the timeframe it takes for the funds to clear, then Paypal locks the funds and the seller can't get the money. I raised a dispute on a guy in my country (Australia) when he failed to respond to my messages after I paid him. The money had left my account but luckily he had not yet received the funds as it takes 5 working days for the funds to get transferred through Paypal in Australia. I found out what legal action I could take on the guy and he was dumb enough to use the same ebay user name as his myspace page. I googled his user name. I ended up finding out most things about this guy through myspace. I was prepared to take him to small claims court. In the end he decided to ship the guitar. I am assuming because he couldn't get the money. He even lied about the shipping date in the end but I wasn't too worried as it turned out to be a really great black AM75 which I was very glad to receive. I released the dispute when the guitar arrived. I was lucky and am very careful about who I deal with now. He had low feedback. Buyer beware unfortunately. |

yes you have 30 days to file a dispute which most people dont know that after that time frame it cant be done thru paypal (your bank or cc card might be able to do something) also a trick for scumbags is to send nothing in a box with a tracking number they will plug the tracking number in to paypal and paypal will accept it and assume the item was shipped even if nothing was in the box so beware of shady sellers look at feedback closely and be careful |

IM wondering if a list of certified DEADBEATS, WITH EBAY NAMES, REAL NAMES AND that sort of info should be made and circulated, one ICW member not too long ago was burned on a 2630 for a consideralbe amount of money, and im sure there are plenty of horror stories, jazzz |

Not to trivialise your experience Jazz, if you want to read bad press on a ebay trader, go visit the LP forum and check out the ebay listing topic on the "Emperor"....Jeez that cuts to the bone. six |
