Jerry finished restoring my old Gibson SG Special. He is so good. Just like to share what he did.

Great job Ace. SG's are hard to refin too. I've seen a couple where the contours have been totally destroyed due to oversanding. Jerry has made a nice job.

Have you noticed that 2680/81's have similar contours to SG's.

Ace and Jerry:

Great job!

The wood looks to be in excellent shape...beautiful pieces of mahogany. What caused the need to refinish it? I doesn't appear that any repairs were need?

Hi 6v6, Jerry did his usual great job as expected. All the lines are crisp and not "rounded" anywhere. The finish is smooth and none of the "wavyness" from lesser luthiers.

Hi John, the original sixteen year old owner decided that cherry was not "cool" so he striped the factory finish and sprayed it black. I bought the guitar from his mother after he left Hong Kong for college state-side. I also picked up a 64 Fender Jazzmaster, a black face Fender Bandmaster with 2x12 JBLs, and about 25 lbs. of effects from his mom who was so happy to get rid of all that "junk". I paid a total of $400 U.S. for everything. It was a steal even back in 1981 when I helped the poor lady out.
