I have a 1984 dt350 Ibanex x-series. No matter what i do to try and tune it, the octave (12th) fret on the high pitch e-string is a half step flat...any comments or suggestions???? |

If it's too far out for adjustments to compensate, then it's probably a bad string. A what? Yes, I've had this happen. I thought I was crazy, but I consulted another repairman who told me he's seen it before. Replaced the string and everything was fine. |

Alternatively to the bad string theory, maybe it's just old strings? The older your strings get, the further the intonation goes out (and in my experience the high E is the worst offender). Put a new set of strings on and see how it goes. |
