I have a 1984 dt350 Ibanex x-series. No matter what i do to try and tune it, the octave (12th) fret on the high pitch e-string is a half step flat...any comments or suggestions????

Reaction if you up load a pic of the guitar and a close up of the bridge soemeone can tell you exactly what you need to do.

If it's too far out for adjustments to compensate, then it's probably a bad string. A what? Yes, I've had this happen. I thought I was crazy, but I consulted another repairman who told me he's seen it before. Replaced the string and everything was fine.

Alternatively to the bad string theory, maybe it's just old strings? The older your strings get, the further the intonation goes out (and in my experience the high E is the worst offender). Put a new set of strings on and see how it goes.
