today a friendly musicshop owner gave me the the Ibanez book.I must say its impressive, nice stories and photos, .....only one mistery isn't solved yet... THERE ARE NO ARTFIELDS LISTED AT ALL.... Why is this.. ? There must be something about these guitars we shouldn't know...so i presume the people who know something about them ..keep their mouth sealed... this all raises some questions : 1. who designed these models ? 2. which factory build them and where in Japan ? 3. Why did they suddenly dissapear ? 4. How much where build ? 5. Why are they not listed in the Book ? 6. Did maybe an other Company build them because the headstock has only a little Ibanez logo . 7. Did Paul Reed Smith got angry ...beause of the quality ? 8. Did ibanez got a misunderstanding with a designer. 9. Did they got to popular ....and would interfere with the orginal Artist series... 10. Are they even Ibanez guitars or did the idea came from somebody else ? 11. Who's got some answers ? Read the Following Advertisment how Ibanez introduced these oustanding and rare guitars.

Artfield: I talked to the Director of Marketing at Hoshino USA; the guy in charge of the book. He said that the book was focused on the US market. Because the Artfields were not imported into the US they weren't included and that's why they are mostly found in Europe. He did mention that they were a real experiment and that's why the Japanese execs decided to downplay the Ibanez identity. If the experiment failed then they wouldn't hurt the Ibanez brand name. That's all I know. |
