The frets were so bad I decided to pull the neck and bridge from my 12-String Roadstar project and create the JS 12-String. Yes, 6 through the body and 6 through the bridge. The string ferrules are original as the JS600 was a hardtail design. Other original parts include the jack, knobs, and pickup rings. The conversion was relatively simple. I replaced the orignal AH1/AH2 pickups with a V1/V2 set. The bridge is a Gotoh part featuring split saddles for intonating all 12 strings. The tuners are also Gotoh. The neck was ordered from Warmoth with a 12 inch radius rosewood fretboard, green abalone dot inlays, and Dunlop 6150 fret wire. The headstock shape was created by me with help from a friend. He did the cutting and drilling also. I shot the headstock in 4 coats of black lacquer. The "Checkmark" logo was procured from eBay and applied to the black base coats. The top is finished in about 10 coats of clear lacquer. It's not near as jangly as a Rickenbacker or Danelectro. It's fat and full like an Artist 12-string, but with a lot more punch (hotter pickups).
