I'm posting these just because I think their cool.I've always loved the rare and oddball stuff. That's whats fun about vintage Ibanez.Anyway...I've been looking for a old and odd Gib SG and recently scored a '72 SG Special with factory Bigsby and while I was checking some things out about it I found these two 1968 Melody Maker XII's.And both in custom colors,Pelham Blue and Crimson Metallic.Right around the corner in Ithaca.I never even knew they made these.I love it when you run into something new and unexpected.Anybody else ever seen or own one of these?

State of the art Early budget line.To be honest it makes no sense to me why they would have put the effort of a cool idea into a cheap model.I guess it pays off now.I remember when you couldn't give Melody Makers and Jr's away. Now they're going between $1000-4000.Then again, who would have expected the prices you see on some Ibanez models now. And,after reading back the top post,It sounds like I bought these, but I didn't.I just ran into them.I'd like to own them but at $2500 each I have to pass. I'm very happy with my '72 special. And so far I can't find another one like it. |

I had a 64 Melody Maker that rocked. Ask Johns, he owned it before I bought it. |

if you get a chance to pickup an ibanez set neck melody maker, grab it. they are fantastic guitars, much better quality than their american made counterparts. |
