I'm considering various options for producing a subtle bigsby-like sound from either my as-200 or ar-300. Any suggestions? Anyone try a Bowen Handle
or a Stetsbar?

Had a Bowen Handle on my Ibanez Les Paul years ago. Also had a Bigsby on it at one time. Currently, I have a Kahler unit. I do not recommended the Bowen Handle for tuning stability - it's designed to be more of a dive-bomb tremolo than a bigsby, and with the stock bridge you're just going to have problems. That said, it's not impossible to get a Bigsby sound out of a Bowen Handle, but there are other factors which prevent it from feeling like a Bigsby.
If you want a Bigsby, buy a Bigsby. If you're patient, you may even find an Ibanez Bigsby-type unit on Ebay someday. The Gibson Vibrola-stye units are also nice for subtle vibrato effects.
