bigmike's great (in all senses) new gibson made me think that most of us have some "non-ibanez" stuff around the racks. maybe it's time to see our "other" guitars...
i have this hofner new president archtop wich is (modestly...) a jazzer's dream: aaa solid german carved spruce top, african maple back, sides and arm, and for the rest of it a festival of ebony; machine heads, fretboard, pickguard, bridge and tailpiece...
finishing is hand-rubbed shellac - it resembles an old, distressed cello.
this model has an unusual feature, 24 frets; fretboard meets body at 16th fret; kent armstrong floating pickup.
unplugged it has almost as volume as a folk guitar, despite the 11-49 flatwounds i use, and with an astoningsh low (1/32") action... at the 24th fret!

No piccies I'm afraid, but, I currently have 4 electric's, 2 of which are Ibanez ('78 IC200 Iceman and a '79 2619 Artist), the other 2 are Tokai Love Rock's.

One is a '99 LS70F in Indigo Blue, which is my main guitar at the moment, especially now that it has a set of Bare Knuckle Pickups in there. It sounds sweet. ;)

My latest purchase is another Love Rock, but this one is an LS60 which seems to date from 1980, but is in a bit of a grey area as it doesn't conform to the standard serial no's that Tokai used, but it has all the features that were discontinued sometime in the early 80's, and weren't seen again, such as a PCB in the control cavity, "twin ring" kluson-a-like tulip button tuners, a "pointy bell" TRC, and Vintage PAF MkI pickups (although I've changed them already to another set of Bare Knuckles, but kept the originals).
