Sixvsix, A buddy of mine from a Cuban Cigar BB makes custom hand wired pedals. He offered me a Dumble Overdrive Amp pedal to try out for a while, so I took him up on the offer (and subsuquently bought the pedal). And while waiting for the pedal to arrive I started looking around on the Internet about Howard Dumble and his amps. Quite a story, quite a guy, and quite a following. As with many boutique items there is a crowd willing to shell out the big bucks to own something like this. From what I read you can order a Dumble Amp but you must lay down a SIZEABLE deposit and then you wait, wait, wait. I've heard stories where a guy was just about ready to receive his amp when some big named artist came along and Dumble sold this guy's amp to the artist. Dumble is an "artist" himself (in his profession) and does what he pleases... I'd sure like a change to try out a Dumble. It will be interesting to see what new price plateau this amp reaches... |

That's about what most Dumbles go for, or so I hear. If you want a piece of the pie, for a lot less, I've heard these amps come close: http://www.fuchsaudiotechnology.com/html/overdrive_supreme.html The Overdrive Supreme is a Dumble copy - supposedly a pretty good one. -Sven |

What about shoving a Klon pedal in front of an old black face Deluxe reverb. Surely cheaper and creamy smooth too. :^) six |

That's what I do with my "Dumble pedal", got it shoved in front of my old Blackface Deluxe Reverb... I tell ya my George Benson sounds so wicked with that thing in the mix. Some guys drive Rolls Royces, others Hondas... LOL |

Larry Carlton was using Dumbles when I saw him in NYC, recently. I believe Robbin Ford does, too. I overheard Larry Carlton's tech say that $10,000 was standard and that they would love to get more from any source. But $26K is really bizarre, IMO. |

Suddenly the item is ended, due to "and error in the listing". In English someone made the seller "an offer he could not refuse". I bet that amp is nice, but on my budget I'll stick to my "dumble pedal" through my Deluxe Reverb. Maybe when I inherit a million I'll get a Dumble Overdrive Special... LOL Big |

Yeah noticed the big pull too Mike. Or, maybe he wasn't happy the way the bidding was going. Maybe 27K wasn't enough? six |
