Saw this on the Today show this morning. Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, Steely Dan & Doobie Brothers guitarist has a job working for the Missile Defense Agency at the pentagon. He got into defense technology as a hobby, and was hired by the govt. for his expertise, and 'out of the box' thinking on matters of national defense. He still has the trademark mustache and ponytail. -Sven |

I always liked Baxter's laid back, precise playing style. Maybe there's a signature model missle in the 'Skunk' works. Sorry, I couldn't resist. |

I saw that, too. Well, at least they played some good background music during the segment. I really don't understand how he could go from a "hobbyist" to "expert", though. Without access to secret info how could he ever know what's what? Would make a good setting for a TV sitcom...or an episode of Alias. |
