Sorry guys. I won't be able to make it either day. Paul Specht is not going to be there either. Somebody take some pictures and let us know what's interesting. I'll try to keep the schedule open for the fall/winter show. |

Well the show was ok, not many Ibanez but a handful 2640 2342 AR100 2 of them another lp copy bolt on. a whole lot of new Ibanez at one booth. Me and Jeff and out ladies got to have a beer together I think he has some pics to post! my highlight as always was playing the new Martins. Man they had a few goodies that were set up perfect and sound so sweet. |

I went back again today. I love going later on Sunday as you can strike some pretty good deals with guys that are not local. They would rather sell than pack the stuff back up for travel. And as luck would have it, I came home with something (more on that later). I went back for a Ragtime (400 series), but the guy took it back to his shop after yesterday's show and didn't bring it with him today. I got his address and he's fairly close so I will most likely be making a trip later this week... I have a bunch of pictures of what was there. As Freaky said, there was nothing eye popping on the Ibanez front with the excpetion of a very nice 2640. I pursued that one pretty seriously and am pretty sure I'll be buying it from the guy if it survives the show. He's also a local collector so I can spend a bit more since I won't have to worry about shipping costs. I'll be posting pictures of what was there later tonight after my camera battery has had a chance to charge up. js |

Here's shome photos of the Vintage Ibanez guitars I could find: 83 AR150. This was actually in pretty nice shape. Black is very unforgiving, but the guitar really had no major issues, just a bunch of little scratches and a few edge dings. 81 AR100. I got real excited when I saw this. I've been looking for an AR100 with V2s (not black) for a while. But it had a really bad repair to the neck joint. Its unfortunate because it appeared that someone attempted to smooth out a simple laquer check and really screwed it up. When I went back on Sunday, it was marked down to $360. Another 81 AR 100. This one also had a neck repair. There was a chip right at the glue joint that was filled and sanded. It was never refinished, so it looked terrible. Other than that, the guitar was fairly nice. The seller wanted $350 for it. If it wasn't for the neck repair, I would have walked out with it. A real funny thing about this guitar was when I went back through the show later, it had a sign on it that read "Some sort of Ibanez". 80 ST 50. This had a few repaired nicks on the face but was nice otherwise. A bit pricey at $549, but the seller made it pretty clear his prices were not firm. The same seller had this really sweet 82 AE400. This guitar was absolutely mint. It looked like it was never played. I'm really considering going back after this one... Ahhh, the '77 2640. Hopefully, this guitar will be mine soon... The gentleman that had the 2640 also had a very nice 78 PF300. Although it was listed at 750, he seemed as though he was flexible with his prices. This guy was also a confessed Ibanez collector. It was a real pleasure talking with him. Here's a nice 78 PF200. It had replacement pickups, but it was a real clean specimen. Expect to see this on eBay soon. Heres a nice 77 CA. Too bad it had a headstock repair. It was gone by Sunday... Another one that didn't make it through the show was this well played 83 George Benson. It had a lot of miles on it. A 76 Delux 59er (I think it may have actually been a 77, but I don't remember for sure). It had a few edge chips. Price was a too high. Another 77 LP copy. This one was fairly clean. This LP copy was beat to hell. Heres a pretty cool signed PS10. This guitar was well played and had a ton of cosmetic issues. I didn't ask how much they wanted for it. And this is the Gem that I cam home with (along with a Strat from the same seller). This a 94 TC530 (resin cast, I think). Although it doesn't appear so in the photo, the guitar is super clean; a solid 9.9. I spent about an hour or so with it this afternoon. I'm pretty happy with it so far. And no, I didn't pay the posted price...

There was nothing going on in the lounge on Sunday at all. In fact, the whole building was real quite. It was pretty weird. I had a chance to talk with a lot of vendors as it was real empty. Most were disappointed with the turnout throughout the weekend. FYI, that's the last time it will be in the Fort Washington convention center. The rumors I heard for this fall's location were Reading, Pa and Baltimore MD. |

Here's the PS10 on GBase for $3500. Way too much for that guitar. It looks great in the picture on GBase, but trust me, that guitar is a 7 max cosmetically. http://www.gbase.com/Stores/Gear/GearDetails.aspx?Item=1511297 Maybe its just me, but that signature doesn't look like Paul Stanley's. js |

I'm in. Maybe we can car-pool. Johns, Reading is about an hour or so further west of Ft Washington from the direction you'll be driving. I used to play in hockey tournaments 2 or 3 times a year in Reading (a hundred years ago). It was a pretty cool little town back then. I certainly got into more than my share of trouble...I haven't been back there in while. I sure hope the statute of limitations have expired . js |

I used to live near Reading (Hamburg), and I have to say that for a small town, it sure is hard to get around in! Including a few tricks like the "Freeway to Nowhere." But I'd rather go there than Philly, any day. I expect to be at the vintage guitar show in Arlington, TX, in about 2 weeks. |

OK, this is the last call for meeting up at the Philly Guitar show in Reading on Sat., Nov. 11th. If you want to meet up somewhere, let's coordinate a time and place. Although, I've never been to this venue and don't know where to suggest meeting up. Maybe we could come up with a time and swap cel numbers, *via private email* to coordinate an easy to find place (food or bar is always easy to find )? |

Here's a first installment on some of the Ibanez related stuff I saw at the show in reading PA. I met Gerald Veasley, an Ibanez bass endorser and really nice guy, at the Roland booth. He's playing a custom made, quilted maple, 6 string SR bass. He played some music with one of the Roland demo guys (he played an RGT Prestige..for some really nice jazz chops!) Rick Derringer was across the aisle and he chimed in for a little bit. I'll try to get some little video clips up soon. |

Here's a very nice '77 2640. I think this is the same one that JeffSailor saw at the show in May. The seller was indeed an Ibanez enthusiast and a VERY nice guy. He's frequented this site a lot...hopefully he'll show us more of his many Ibanez guitars. |

Here's one you don't see very often, a GB Y2K "Masquerade". This one was supposed to be NOS. It had a strange finish texture. Almost orange peel, krinkle. Can anybody confirm if this was intended? It looked strange to me. They were asking $3000.00. |
