Ok, I just want to know how many people this bothers..call me anal-retentive..but,

Does it bother anyone to see guitars strung and leftover string ends hanging all over the place at the headstock?

Pit:

Yeah, I see it as sloppy...and potentially dangerous.

Back in the "old days" I used to wind the ends into nice little circles. Now I'm too lazy, so I just snip the leftover off.

LOL...thanks for responding John...don't ask me why I posted this...must have been one too many MGD's.

Seeing nice guitars with "sloppy" as you put it ends just gets on my nerves. Another reason why I prefer top slotted tuning machines.

On my locking tremolos, I run the ball end through at/through the tuner... then I only have to cut the string once before I lock it in the bridge.

On the non-locking, I usually snip them off pretty close and angle them inward. Otherwise they end up snagging clothes, skin, possibly causing injury. Even though I angle the ends in, they still seem to bite me when I remove the strings in a hurry.

I used to do what John did also. Little circles. Now I just snip them but, yes I hate when people leave them hanging all over.
