Here is a clip from 1978 of Zappa doing Suicide Chump. His rhythm guitarist is using a Weir but I cant tell if it has a vine or not. Check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGS9GaMgZi8 |

I think I saw a vine on it. Wow! I hadn't seen/heard any Zappa stuff for quite a while. He sure got some different sounds from an SG (although heavily modded) than I've, ever heard. But as always with Frank... MORE QUESTIONS! like... Why 2 bass players? & Why would he think anyone would want to see him without a shirt? |

LOL I noticed that the keyboardist was shirtless also. Probably was hot in the place they were playing. Also the 2 bassist puzzled me but hey thats Frank. His SG does sound nice there and I agree its modded out. If you watch his right hand you will notice he has a very unusual picking style. He picks the string upward all of the time. I never noticed until I read a Steve Vai interview and he mentioned Franks unorthodox style. |

About 3:35-3:37 into the clip, I think you see the vine (look around the 12th fret)...... |

The biggest problem is, every time you can almost see it, Frank's SG's headstock gets in the way. The 2 bassists are still bugging me. I keep thinking of Duane & Dicky, at LO Hz. |
