But I know these guitars. They are no junk! This guitar is not cheap: only the wood cost about $1300 retail price for a neck through body type. This stuff comes from Poland. And it is really good wood with a good natural finish. In Holland the wood is sold by Bas van de Broek, Hedel, also known of Boston Mupro. Many luthiers buy parts there and make custom built guitars with Polish prefab wood. Some under the name of Martens. I have built one neck-through-body stratocaster guitar (with Fender Lace Sensors) with this kind of material and one neck-through-body bass (with Bartolinis). I've still two of these strat body at home: one korina and one ash with bubinga back and top. I'm still looking for some nice necks. How the total quality in the end will be, depends on the other parts you use. This guy chose Ibanez parts. So I guess it's a good sounding custom built instrument, but brandless. The name on the headstock is probably the name of the owner or a fantasy name. The sum of the parts is worth more than the starting bid. (the Schaller floyd rose alone is $209.90) BTW I don't understand the elm story. IMO the body is quartered sycamore (I know the grain from my Alhambra 7F) with a wenge top and back (I know this from my homebuilt (prefab) bass, it's African with mineral particles in it, our sax player, who worked for Egmond as a lathe operator, warned me for them, because they may cause ugly infections if you get splinters). A thick transparent high gloss finish like this one is a good protection. Pity it's not around the corner.
