Oh, this could be good. The serial number is clearly visible in one of the pictures, and it looks like...could it be...please no. S504xxxx. We have a winner!!!!!! Could this be a Samick 1995...just like my AS120? I have to ask the seller if the pups are microphonic...what do you think? I can't take it...here's another. Check the serial number...another S506xxxx. They're killing me...two in one night. Are they siblings to the AS120s???? Another hypthesis confirmed! Good work. Now I would like to see a picture of the labels of an Ibanez AS80 or AS120 from April and May 1995 to check the May 1995 production move hypothesis. About these pickups... That wouldn't surprise me... Ask if he needs a deep fryer! Ginger |

Sorry about the 2nd link, Ginger. Your link is correct: Rick http://cgi.ebay.com/1995-Epiphone-by-Gibson-Sheraton_W0QQitemZ180061689716QQihZ0 08QQcategoryZ33037QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item180061689716 |

If you copy the Item number and paste it in the "Add Ebay!" box and then click "Add Ebay!" the ICW makes a little money every time someone uses the link. So guys: use the "rover" links when you want to view this ad: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-1751-2978-71/1?AID=5463217&PID=1802666&mpre=ht tp%3A//cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D180061689716 Ginger |

"Did you all forget about using the misc. section for non Ibanez guitars!" However, it was specific as to the comparison of that guitar and my AS120. Sorry. No offense meant. Rick |

No offense taken either I was just pointing out that if it it doesn't say Ibanez on the headstock it doesn't belong here.Even if it was made in the same factory. It's just helps John out so he don't have to move it later on if we all keep the basic topic rules in mind.Me included. |

John could change the title to: "The link between early Ibanez AS120's and Epiphone Sheraton II." - The serial number system is the same. - Are the bodies the same? - Are the pickups the same? - The necks are definitely not the same. - The fretboard inlay materials are the same but in different shapes. - If the Samick Epi Sheraton II's are better than the Samick AS120's, are the Cort AS120's better than the Samick Epi Sheraton II's? - Was Ibanez decision to move the Artstar production to Cort a wise one? - Was Gibson's decision to keep the Epiphone Sheraton II production at Samick a stupid one? Because what we're actually doing, is Artstar AS120 research. 1) What do you think of this proposal, Rick? 2) JohnS, is this possible? Ginger |

Great stuff, Ginger. I really should have but the IBZ name in the title because it is a research type of thread. I wanted it here because of you and others that can validate this type of information. The IBZ semi-hollowbody following is rabid...I needed that support and input. JohnS, can you modify the title of the thread...es OK for me. Rick |
