These guitars, especially the later ones (1979+) are comparable and even a better build than Ibanez. They were around until the mid 1980's and many models can be purchased for 1/2 of the Ibanez . Its a great way to start a vintage collection. For example....The LP model (top of the line) is a highly flamed book matched maple top (around 3/4" thick), Mahogany body, smooth scooped heel, solid brass nut & Bridge, split coil super hot pickups, with a fully bound neck & body. Thes guitars sell in the $350-$450 range and are unreal in fit, finish & tone. Oh yea.....after 1976 ("post-lawsuit", they gained a goofy looking headstock shape (Gretsch) Collectors are beginning to catch on and prices are rising, but these guitars are still very undervalued IMHO.... I have an extensive collection of Electras so if anyone wants to converse, just drop me a line. The website above is a very good resource. THE NEXT IBANEZ ! The T-O-L 335 guitar in the beginning of this thread is the Elvin Bishop endorsed model. Great fit and finish except on the AV model, there is an issue with the neck finish. I have a couple where the finish is peeling off right to the wood like it wasn't prepped correctly. The Natural version (Maple Pro) is an breathtaking guitar. These models sell in the $550-$650 range, the GBP 379 is kinda high, especiall without detailed pictures. The control cavity covers are gold brushed aluminum, and note the matched flamed maple headstock. The flame on this guitar is typical-I have 12 of this model and each guitar has a top that is at least as nice as this one....Remember this is a real 3/4" maple top, not a veneer.
