So.... I'm sittin' there watchin' "The Surreal World" (I think that's what it's called) and there's your boy Vanilla Ice swingin' an Ibanez ew20asent acoustic. EW= exotic Wood, 20 = frets?, AS= Ash, E= electronics, NT = Natural Finish. Speakin' of "swingin", I'd much rather see Vanilla Ice swingin' upside down by his ankles off a balcony 6 stories up...with a rather large record company exec. at the controls... than see any Ibanez in his paws, on solid ground.

Well, since it's a nice Ibanez acoustic...and, I'm sure there's a ballpeen hammer lying around somewhere nearby... save The Ibanez, use the hammer.

Speaking of hammers lets hope MC Hammer doesnt start playing ibanez as well! Doh

I saw that episode and noticed the guitar i had one of these but sold as it wasnt my cup of tea nice guitar just i needed something a bit higher end for my acoustic Duo, went with a Breedlove concert body (NICE) and a Taylor 814 and a yamaha APX 7 for rotating with my gigs i wasnt crazy about the ash sound i prefer spruce/rosewood or mahogany backs. but i have specific needs the ibanez did have good playability and was quite a nice little axe for the money seemed very solid like it could take a beating (Especially whatever top bracing they used). To bad the ice man wont increase sales for ibanez hehehe

Bob... I know you're stretched right now, but if that price stays low on this EP9, ya gotta do it!

My bandmate & I both LOVE ours. Great playability and AMAZING tone... plugged or not.

Johns... Good call... sounds like just what Roadartstar was describing. Have you spent any quality time with an EP9?

It won't if you keep bidding so early!

Remember... there is no shame in waiting for a good, last minute snipe!

Johns:

I bought mine in spite of the looks. As much as I may like redheads "in the flesh" (nudge-nudge, wink-wink), I love my blondies when it comes to guit-fiddles.

I don't know how much you might play acoustic, but even if you don't, do yourself a favor... try one of these sweet thangs. They're truly magical. I was ready to drop $3,500 on a Taylor 815 & this thing SMOKED it... and for $1,100!

Jch... yes, I am actually sorry 'bout my/that bid. I NEVER EVER EVER BID EARLY! Don't know why I did this time other than.... I've sat thru about 10 ep9 auctions that I wanted to win and they all go the same way. You will not get an ep9 for $215 believe me. There is a seller I keep my eye on, he is constantly selling these ep9's and they are always "seconds" or whatever you call them, they have some small flaw that is supposedly unnoticeable. Even those get bucks. I was so interested in one of these that I asked an ICW member to keep his eyes open for one for me, I thought I might hear back from him this month on one. So... I was the one who started the infamous "don't bid til the last second on ebay" thread and I bid early on this one, just to keep it in my face when I check my ebay really. Sorry and won't happen again.

Hey... layoff or I'll bring that old "bidding on ebay" thread up again!!! I don't know why everybody got so bent about that thread, I thought it was interesting and... useful. OH well, my bid on that ep9 WAS an abbhoration. (Probably mis-spelled.)

Hey Bob,

I really wasn't trying to beat you up over it. Just tryin' to help. No need to apologize or feel bad or anything. No big whoop.

btw... I use "Watch This Item" to keep things in my face.

Jch... yes, I know, I didn't take it as anything other than a good-natured ribbing. I am the one who steadfastly (under fire) stuck to my guns in that other thread about not bidding early on Ebay and how foolish it is to do. Sometimes though, a buddy may contact me who's got an axe for sale on Ebay and they may ask me to place a bid to "get the ball rolling" so to speak and I will do that from time to time for a buddy. Otherwise, I usually never ever bid early. I actually prefrer a snipe as opposed to bidding myself at all. If I really really want it, I will snipe it. It's funny how that thread riled folks up so. I thought it was a good thread because there were so many points of view expressed on the subject. It was interesting to me. I think the thread was: "Bidding on Ebay" or something like that.
