John,

Not wanting to put you under any pressure or anything, but any chance of a new feature in Guitar Tours??

I've been visiting this site daily for almost a year now and keep hoping for a new feature.

Some guitars I'd like to see featured would be:
- Mark Hartman's IC400
- Your own AR305SE
- Harold's L5 Replica
- An AS200
- a GB 100
- a nice Custom Agent
- an AM205

C'mon, what'dya say???

Mark:

The first hurdle in producing GT features is time. It takes a lot of my time for interviewing the owner, writing copy, checking facts, retouching photos, and then making web pages. Add to this the time of the owner to share in all the foregoing.

Another hurdle is quality photos.

The final obstacle is getting submissions.

My initial concept for the Guitar Tours section was a place to showcase "rare, exotic or endorser owned guitars." Of those you listed, the IC400, L5 and GB100 fit the bill (and with the exception of the GB100, we KNOW who has these rare guitars). The others are certainly "highly desirable".

So, should I change my definition of what fits into the GT section to breathe new life into the section?

Currently, I do have a submission on the AR1200, 12 string.

John,

I think you fat-fingered the model number. The AR1200 is the double-neck. My 12-String is an AR112. I wish I had an AR1200!

As for changing the criteria for the GT section; I think "Of Special Interest" may be appropriate. It's your baby, man, do as you see fit.

Regarding our previous e-mails, I'll MAKE time if you decide to go with this one.

Cheers

Steve:

Sorry about the typo. I probably had the AR1200 on my mind because there's one up for auction on ebay.

I passed on an absolute mint condition AR1200 last year. I'm still trying to figure why. Oh yeah! My wife said NO! :)

As far as changing the criteria for GT to allow guitars "Of Special Interest", let's put it to a vote.

How do the members feel? Tell me what you think.

John,

Yeah, I saw it too. Got stink-eye from the wife also... *sigh*

I vote "Yea" for "Of Special Interest". This will definitely broaden the field of eligibility. Obviously you will still have the final word on what gets a GT page.

Fellow Ibanez "maniacs"; GET OUT THERE AND VOTE !!

John,

Garry Benson has a friend who owns a GB100. I am sure Garry could sweet talk his mate into submitting some good quality photos and written information.

I vote a "Yes" for guitars of special interest also.

Hope you don't think I've pushed you from the pan into the fire with this message thread!!

Mark,

Bring your camera when you come over and you can take as many pics as you want of the GB100.

Cheers

Hey you guys,

I vote "yea" also since I'm not the one who has to do all the work.
Heck,Vintage Guitar magazines format of Readers Gallery is cool and I think we have enough visitors here to do that sort of thing at least twice a month.
It does not have to be a work of art or super time consuming, just a picture or two with a brief description."Blondes on a Bench" or "Les Is More" kind of thing.
Maybe just a new thread (or add to the "what's in your collection")for members of this site and the Tours section devoted to the really "special ones" of very limited numbers
Keep up the good work everyone,I really look forward to reading the comments from everyone.

Mike G.
