Is anyone going to be at the Philly Guitar show this weekend? I'll be there on Saturday.

I didn't see many vintage Ibanez at the show either, the highlights were a Weir with vines (asking $1295) and a '78 2617 (asking $900). Didn't see any other of the Professionals, wonder if some more were there on Saturday? I decided to go at the last minute on Sunday, so may have missed some as it was the end of the show.

Fred:

I wonder if it was the same Weir as I saw on Sat? It was an extremely clean '79 with Rosewood board (that was something I'd never seen before). If so, it was priced at $1499 on Sat.

There was an '84 AS200 right next to it. It was priced at $895. Although it didn't have a lot of flame, it was very clean. I was sure it would be scuffed up.

At another booth I saw a '78 2622 EQ. It needed a good cleaning and polish, but otherwise, it was in very good shape. They had it tagged at $1050.

There was an '80s GB10 that was priced at $1500. Didn't see much of interest beyond these.

Got to see 2 jazz guys play together on the little stage. One was Art Bibinger, he was demoing American Archtop's guitars and the other was named Alan something. Both had recorded a track or two for American Archtop's demo CD. They sounded very good together. Alan was playing a seven string and was getting a very nice bass sound out of the top string. He also scats constantly while playing. It was a fun 45mins.

John,

Don't recall the dealer's name but the table was near the corner near the restrooms. Looks like the asking prices on the AR Artists are getting closer to the AS Artists, in any case.

Regards,
Fred
