I'm not sure that a digital camcorder is in the budget. But certainly I'll take some still picture and post them. Is there anything in particular that you want to see? |

Better late than never. Here's some pictures of the Valley Forge, PA guitar show. The pictures were all taken on Sat. July 22, 2002. My apologies for the lack of details (models, years, etc.,). I didn't write anyting down and the memory is shot. If I've made a mistake, please speak up and let me know. There was a much better showing for Ibanez guitars at this show, than in previous years. The pictures are intended to show the range of guitars that were available. They are shown in no particular order. Let's start out with a Moderne replica. There are more Ibanez versions of this than Gibsons. Next, a Johhny Smith model 2461. Here's a George Benson GB20 that has lost it's pickguard and pickup. And we'll round out this group with a '76-'77 2681.

Next up is what I think to be a late 70s/early 80s AS100. I believe this is an '85 AM100 (it was near mint). This is a shot of a fellow Ibanez enthusiast (I think his name was either Mark or Mike, sorry). He was hoping to find a buyer for his Phil Collens Destroyer.

Here's a group of AR models, First up an early 80s AR300 with Lindy Fralins and a very high price tag. Next is an AR100 from the same time period. This duo shot shows a late model AR2000 Prestige (not a bad price, either) next to a late model S series Prestige. Ahhh, the long-lost twin of the AR100 above...only $20.00 cheaper.

I told you there were more Ibanez Modernes out there. This one wasn't in quite as good condition as the one above, but the parts were all original. Next to it is a cool 3 pick-up LP replica with a fancy tailpiece. There were other LP replicas like this one. How's this for a blast from the past? A true lawsuit ES335 replica. It's a model 2370. You've got to read the tag and then look at the headstock shape to see the irony in this photo. This low end AS model would not be considered "Golden Age Ibanez", IMHO.

Here's a "twofer" for the Bass lovers. A '79 and an '83 Musician bass. This one doesn't say Ibanez on it, it's a TAMA acoustic. They were imported into the US by Hoshino (along with drum kits) in the late 70s/early 80s. I'm told that they are equal or higher in quality/construction to Martins. We'll call the final three shots the Bob Devrell Show. Some of you may know Bob as dev41@eclipse.net. Bob has an effinity for gorgeous Ibanez archtops. He was selling two at the show. The first shot is his Johnny Smith, 2461. The next is a stunning blonde Birdland, 2464. Our final photo is Bob himself, modeling his Johnny Smith.

John, Well done! Thanx very much for sharing. Does anybody know where to find info on shows like this? I'd love to attend one, but I can't find anything in Oregon or Washington. Cheers Steve |

John, top job, with some great pics too... I agree with you on the guitar labelled the "Golden Age of Ibanez ( my ass )the jabroni that was selling that one should have been shown the exit door and escorted outside so he could give himself an uppercut.Anyway, we could use a few more shows like that "downunder" Cameron |

Mouth-watering pics John. There's no way you would see that many vintage Ibanez guitars in one sweep over here in the UK. In fact, shows like that just don’t happen. Incidentally, was that cherry 2370 a bolt neck? Cheers Six |

Fred: Thanks. All I did was take the photos. I'll try to make the next show on Saturday, November 23. BTW, where are you located? Six: As far as I remember it was a bolt-on. That's what the specs say about it. Steve: Try this link for show schedules: http://www.vintageguitar.com/events/default.asp I see one for The 11th Annual Seattle-Tacoma Guitar Show, on September 29. |

The last time I talked to Maniac Mike, he was thinking about bringing a tractor trailer full of some of his collection. Are you still out there Mike? JohnS |
