Hey Ya'll, Thanx to our fearless leader, Mr. John Shanley, "Gitfiddle1" will no longer be posting on the ICW. As of today, I will be know as "Mr_Roadstar"! A while back, John referred to me as "Mr. Roadstar" in a thread. Well, I kinda liked that moniker and requested it as a new ID. And John was kind enough to indulge me... Cheers Steve |

Steve: What shall we call you for short? Mr. Roadie or Mr. Star? You even got the capital "R"! Boy, I'm good! |

Steve: Sir Roadie or Sir Star? SUB (Snickering Under Breathe) The cap "R" thing was sarcasm. I didn't enter it that way. The software must be accepting it the way you type it. I'll try an experiment and enter my username in alternating caps. |

Steve: The experiment didn't work. Did you change something in your profile to show the cap "R"? |

OK Mr Roadstar, Where did you get the name "Gitfiddle1"? I'm guessing you play the fiddle??? I got the name "Funkle" back when I was posting at the harmony-central newsgroup. I had recently been at a wedding, where I made the observation that there is always somebody's alcoholic uncle at every wedding, and I coined the term "Drunkle". Thinking this was pretty funny, I used the name Funkle at the newsgroup and it stuck. But I'm not anybody's uncle, and I'm not very funky, I'm actually a honkie! Wow, that could be the lyrics to a song - everybody needs a theme song... Anyone else care to share where they got their handle? -Sven |

LOL !! Good post. I came up with "Gitfiddle1" when I created my first web-based e-mail account. "Gitfiddle" was taken.... Sorry it wasn't a cool story ;) No, I don't play the fiddle! Gitfiddle was just a term my uncle used for his guitar. Cheers Steve |

Being an MA in German Language and a professional translator, I discovered talking about food ingredients to the German wife of my cousin in the kitchen that the German word for ginger is an anagram of my name in real life. Now the name Ginger and Ginger Ale are often already taken by "carottops". Putting a digit behind it, isn't an attractive option (who is who?) The Dutch word for ginger ale is gemberbier. So it's a word game of a language freak (who gets paid per word and is used to produce huge amounts of texts in as little time as possible) and it has nothing to do with my hair colour. Oh yeah, and I like hot and spicy sauces with ginger in it, like on Chinese/Indonesian roast pork. And I like the Jamaican drink for my throat. Djahe, Ginger, Ginger Ale, Gember, Gemberbier PS: Does the Captain have a boat? |

I'm a Sailor. My father was a Sailor as was his father before him. My mother was a Cook before she met my father. But shortly thereafter she too became a Sailor. I come from a whole line of Sailors. And if I ever have kids, well, they'll be Sailors too... Actually, its just my name. js |

I was searching the net and dealers for information about the FG100 with one pickup.... to find out that it doesn't exist but as a NT fancier version prototype for the PMs. |

Good one Jeff! It reminds me of the 3 Stooges skit when Curly was dancing with a lady and she comments on his dancing skills. Curly replies,"why thanks you, I come from a family of dancers. My father died dancing. On the end of a rope,NYUK NYUK NYUK! |

'Guitar Tim' was the name my drummer gave me when we were playing USO tours in Viet Nam and Thailand in '68 and '69. (Yep, at the peak of the war!) All of the band members had their names printed on US Army fatigues, the most comfortable clothing for monsoon humidity...and 'Guitar Tim' was on mine. We performed up to 4 shows a day in almost every part of V.N., travelled by Huey gunships, C130's, C141's and Chinooks...always accompanied by a heavily armed 'Rhambo-ish' Army Ranger. Our five piece group put on shows...deep 'in country', on flatbed trucks, base clubs, hospitals, barracks and bombed out bunkers, from Saigon all the way up to within 2 miles of the DMZ. Oh, and I was only 6 years old at the time. Tim |
