This guitar is from England, I think the seller might have a touch of amnesia with the year though.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2525866622&category=2384 Im still hanging my nose over this ghostrider, I did a keyword search, and gitfiddles comments about them being screamers, has fired me up. I have played one, but not in anger. One thing I did find tho, is that the horns were quite close to the body, and this hampered the left hand up the neck on heavy vibrato. I can here it wailing already. Regards Paddy. |

Well I'm thinking of selling my Blue Weir. I do a lot of functions so you're looking at 1 to 1.5 hour stints standing up. It's just too damn heavy for that kind of work. Trouble is I love the way it plays and looks so I'm in two minds really. Funny because my Scruggs is much lighter and the balance is slightly better too. |

Hi Six, so thats why you sold the "ole coffee table", cant take the weight eh! If you sell that blue Weir I bet you will regret it. I dragged my 1000 exup out of the garage last week , Ive not ridden it for two years, it felt like I was on a dragster. Paddy |

You're probably right there mate, I will regret it. I shoved the Duc in for a service last week. Not expecting to see much change from a grand this time. Bikes and guitars...guarenteed to empty your pockets. |

Tim, Going off topic here... OH MY GAWD !! My number one board was a 28" Fibreflex with Trackers and Sims Giant Slalom wheels. I used to compete in Downhill and Giant Slalom races. Thanx for the trip down Roadrash (memory) lane! Cheers Steve |

A friend of mine has offered me a casio mg-510 (midi)guitar, I think they were made in the Fuji Gen Gakki factory. Has anyone had any experience with one? I dont know what the tracking will be like compared with the modern midi guitars? Ill give it a go and keep you posted. regards, Paddy. |

So, Six, did you sell the blue Weir? |

Nope, still mulling it over. It’s such a great piece of art and okay if you play it on the knee. Trouble starts when you stand up and put it on the strap. The old back ain’t what it used to be I'm afraid. |

I'm 52 years old, and have arthritis from a bike wreck in 1969 that has left me fairly gimped up. Because of that, I was concerned about standing for long periods and figured a chair was inevitable. I researched a bit and found what I think is the absolute best guitar chair around. It's made by Sound Seat and their website is at http://www.soundseat.com/index.html and provides all the info on them. I went all out on mine and ordered it with my Raceboy logo which is the name spelled out in the style of Superman. I also got the larger foot ring, and the larger seat back. I have pics of it here http://www.race2winradio.net/rbgear/chair/01.html and I must say it's extremely comfortable. Also, JR is a real joy to work with. He's a perfectionist, and it shows in the quality of their products. If you contact him, tell him Raceboy sent ya.;) |

I don’t know if I’m quite ready for that but it looks like an excellent piece of kit. Was it expensive? We have a couple of 3 hour gigs coming up (with 2x10 minute breaks between) so I’ll be using my Reverend Avenger for those as it’s so light (sorry guys). In the past, I've used my early version Randy Scruggs for longer gigs as it's fairly light, say compared to a Weir model. I think the later Scruggs model had a slightly thicker body that added weight but please correct me if I'm wrong. |

Six, the final ticket was a tad over $500 for the chair. The embroidery is what jacked up the price so much. |

I could buy another Reverend for that man. I'd settle for an old bar stool then. |

You could, but your butt would know the difference.;) It was an extravagance I decided to treat myself to. Plus, famed race artist Sam Bass has one, so I figured if it was good enough for him, it would be good enough for me.lol It's an expensive item, but it's like any other piece of kit in that if you need it, getting the best quality nets better results. I use it as my desk chair daily for work as well. |
