I just got a "Mako" Casino type replica. It's very similar to my Univox Effie, and has the block just under the bridge instead of a through-block like a Gibson. It also weighs twice as much as the (poplar) Effie. 3-way switch is with other controls & not on upper bout. Very well made, blonde & all gold hardware. Grover tuners look original. The guy said it was 1974, Japan made. I have seen Mako solids from the late 70's & early 80's, but never any hollow bodies. Has anyone ever seen one of these, and are they related to Ibanez ? I'll get pics up in a day or two. |
