Author Message   Tristan Username: Tristan Registered: 3-2005 Posted on Sunday, April 22, 2007 - 8:09 pm:    I posted a few weeks ago that I bought a Maya 335 copy, so now I have it and I also have some pictures made (pretty quick and they're not that great) but, it has a big central block. It sustains for a long time with very minimal feedback. Even the pickups which I understand to be the stock ones are really strong and give a great sound. The build quality is also very nice with a thin neck that resembles the one on the AS200 or the AS180 that I had. The finish is beautiful, it's pretty transparent and you can see all the wood through. The tuners are also originals, have no name on them but they're strong, easy to turn and stay in tune for quite a while. I like this guitar, meanwhile.. I got it for 260 euros. Still, there's some work to be done, I think I have some problems with the bridge but I'll get it professionally done.   Tristan Username: Tristan Registered: 3-2005 Posted on Sunday, April 22, 2007 - 8:29 pm:    I failed to really capture the finish (it's beautiful). I sold a Maya 335 to a chap earlier this year. I'd bought the guitar from someone who didn't have a clue! The Maya had been rewired, original pups taken out, two DiMarzio super distortion monstrosities put in and an elaborate switch system installed, three switches, all messing with the tone. Extra holes had been drilled into it. I bought it for just over £100, promptly sold the nasty pickups for well over £100 and sold the body of the Maya for £175.00. Mine was much different to yours. The headstock was the open book one, the tuners were different and the neck was totally different to yours. Mine was fairly thin in terms of fretboard width but thick in terms of the neck. I've got the measurements written down somewhere, I always keep the measurements of any guitar I buy irrespective of whether I keep it. The build quality was pretty good, lovely walnut finish.
