I have bought a tone zone, a cruiser, and a pro track for the bridge, middle and neck respectively. How do I wire the guitar while keeping the control setup of the rs1500? it has a three way switch, a master volume, a tone, and a middle pickup volume. Any Ideas? |

C, Did you get the pups wired into the guitar? I ask because I have a 1500 in which a rail humbucker was installed in the bridge position. Unfortunately, the install also included a coil tap switch. As a result of the mod, I believe the control set-up was screwed up. Looking at the wiring, it "appears" to be correct, but either of the volume dials can be used to mute the guitar when turned to "0". From the description of the controls in the '83 catalogue, One of the volume pots controls the 3-way switch to which the neck and bridge pups are connected. The second controls the middle pickup. So I should be able to turn on or off the middle pup and the switched bridge and neck pups independently by use of the respective volume pot, correct? Anyway, I want to get this thing back to working condition with respect to the wiring, so any input will be appreciated (Bear, Craig?). Thanks, js |

I did a straight up wiring of the three Dimarzios in my 1500. Jim Donahue assisted via email advice. The middle pickup should work with the second volume turned down, it is a blend. At least mine worked that way. Anyone else? I also have a wiring diagram from JD himself, I can forward it to you via email from home.. Chris |

OK, you've confirmed my assumption about the middle pup pot acting as a blend...there's something wrong in the way my guitar is wired. The diagram will help, thanks. Like I said, it appears as if its wired correctly, but I'm not experiencing the correct behavior. If anyone else wants to chime in, I'd welcome the input. js |
