Joe Walsh kicks butt and always has. He is a guy who you don't think of right away and who doesn't get enough credit. That dude has been wailing and tasty for so so many years. And yet... he's usually not one of the first names you think of when it comes to great guitar players. Joe Walsh is one of the greats. I am seeing him tomorrow night at an intimate venue called "The Northfork Theater" here in NY. Not a bad seat in the house. I used to see Joe there every year but he stopped. I think this is his first time back in a while and he always played a 3-piece band at these shows/this venue. Guitar/bass/drums... that's it. And... you're like 25 feet from the band. It's such a neat show. I saw Alice Cooper at this venue a while back, it's a great place for a concert. It's a small circular room with a revolving stage. Pretty neat, very intimate. When I saw Alice, I was in front of the first row in "the pit", He was sweating on me and that snake came pretty close too. Back to Jow Walsh... he is one of my guitar heroes, if you can make the show tomorrow night, this would be the place to see him. |

"The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get" was one of the first albums I ever bought (and it was on 8-track). |

Chuck, that's such a great album. He played stuff from it last night (8/9/07. Here's a photo from the show. (Revolving stage!)

Joe Walsh was on one of the recent "top 100 guitar solos" lists for his work on "Hotel California." It's actually a double solo swapping licks with the other guitarist. |
