Hey: Here are some nice Artist sightings. Mike Rutherford (Artist 2622) 'Turn It On Again' http://youtube.com/watch?v=67OtAM-SPjg Tommy Shaw (AR500CS) 'Too Much Time on My Hands' http://youtube.com/watch?v=pD8mzZun5wo ...and 'The Best of Times' http://youtube.com/watch?v=98VKZ3El8Ns ...and 'Don't Let It End' http://youtube.com/watch?v=lx9s1vw04yA Some great shots on all of the solos. In fact, it was this AR500 that he played during the '83 tour that first turned me onto Ibanez guitars. Enjoy!! |

How could I forget that footage?!?! JY uses that Studio (it's actually a ST-200) for about 50% of the entire show. I've had the fortunate opportunity to speak with him at various Styx shows over the years, and he has commented that he still has the guitar in his collection. |

Nice catch Trisound. I missed the fact that the guitar didn't have trisound switches (you caught it for obvious reasons ). I'm a huge fan of all Studio series guitars. I didn't see Styx during this era but I'm glad old clips like this are still around. |

I never got to seem them back in the 80's either (wasn't quite of concert going age) but got hooked on the guitar after seeing the Kilroy show originally broadcast *gasp* on MTV. I remember being amazed by the number of knobs on that guitar and not having a clue what any of them might actually do. I'm definitely a fan of the Studio series as well and have both an NT and a DS(?) ST-300 in my arsenal. Great playing guitars!! |
