Just saw Derringer/Winter and could not stop thinking about this dude. Way back in '75/'76 (I was in high school)I played in a Johnny Winter Tribute band and-at that time ('74-'76) Floyd was billed as the rhythm guitarist. Floyd was one of the best unknown rock guitarists of the day and traded leads with Johnny in his prime.

I was a rabid fan and caught most of the shows in the area '74-'76 including the Beacon theater and the Felt Forum (Mohogany Rush was the back up band with Frank Marino)

Apparently after the European leg of the Tour Floyd needed to get a real job and quit to go to engineering school. He got his under grad and masters and a job with Lockeed Martin-I think he is still there.

Take the time to find some of the old footage of Floyd and Johnny in the late 70's. Looke for still alive and well, Jumping Jack Flash, Johnny B Goode. Some of the leads and trade offs with Johnny W are simply amazing !

Heres a guy that-right out of high school-toured with one of the major acts of the period in both the US and Europe and then disappeared.

There are some interesting clips on Utube
