Thanks, Sixvsix!

It's a '59 Gibson GA-9. A little ratty looking, but it sounds great.

I bet it's great. Have you heard the GA6 and the GA20?

Haven't had the pleasure, though I've read VERY positive things about the GA20.

Sometimes a simple circuit with a couple good tubes is all you need.

Agree, simple and small produces warm tones. The combination of a small amp pushing it's speaker hard makes the nicest noises for my old ears.

Most old amps have seen some owner abuse over the years and personally, I think Fender amps of the same period were better engineered to put up with it. In saying that, the Gibson amps are sweet and still pretty affordable in the vintage amp market although some models are temperamental.

So how long you had the GB model and do you have anything else Ibanez?

I've only had the GB10 for a couple weeks - and I absolutely love it.
Right now, it's the only Ibanez I own. I've had several over the years, though. My first LP-style guitar was an Ibanez and I played one of their "335 Jr." models for a few years. That one was real nice. Also had a bass, but I sold that to a friend (who still has it).

Actually, I do have a couple pedals, too. A TL-5 tremolo and an EM-5 Echomachine, both are the old Soundtank models. Maybe not the most road-worthy construction, but they are fantastic sounding pedals.

On the amps - I agree that Fenders were better built (I've got a '68 Deluxe Reverb). I had to replace the volume pot in my Gibson and it is a little noisy, but it's got a great, low-volume tone. And it cost me a fraction of what a comparable Tweed Fender would cost - though Fender never made anything quite like this one.
