Okay, I shouldn't tease You. Those were NOT Ibanezes. I am just so much into my AM255, so these small 335's appeal to me strongly.

The smaller above is an Eagle Flash 11. It is a swedish company that make their guitars in Korea. The one pictured was an awesome player when I tried it for a short time in Sweden. And it is cheap!

The bigger picture under is a Jay Turser, which I's sure You american people know a lot more than I do. Just found the pic.

Posted on Wednesday, June 19, 2002 - 8:04 pm:

Based on information I have obtained on this site, I believe that my guitar is a 1978 Bob Weir Professional. It has the flying fingers pick-ups, vine on the neck and head stock, blond body with greenish trim and all gold hardware. Does anyone know if this sounds like a Bob Weir Professional and what the approximate value ? I am new to this site so I would appreciate any guidance anyone could give me. If more information is needed, just let me know. The serial number is C787715. Thanks for your help in advance.
Johns (Johns)
Posted on Wednesday, June 19, 2002 - 10:22 pm:

Greathjr:

It sounds like you have a Bob Weir Pro. Take a look at the picture in this thread:

Vintage & Custom Electrics: Could've bought a NEW AR300 or 2681 (with vines) in 1996...(pics)

If it looks like that one, you have a model 2681. The 2680 model doesn't have the vine.

According to the serial number it was manufactured in March of 1978. A good year, for a good guitar.

In excellent, all original, condition your guitar is worth $1000 plus. Not unheard to go $1200 plus, if in mint condition.

John- Thanks for the response. Upon further review, it now appears that I have a Randy Scruggs model 2671 (based on pictures posted on the discussion board). What would you say now of the value of my guitar. I am not looking to sell it just want to know what it is worth. Thanks in advance for any advise you can give me.- Jim
Johns (Johns)
Posted on Thursday, June 20, 2002 - 1:06 pm:

Greathjr:

Ohhh, a Randy Scruggs, model 2671. Still a very nice guitar. Personally, I like them better than the Weir.

There was an "urban legend" started that there were only a handful of the Scruggies ever made. That's turned out to be false. However, they are very collectible and desireable. The price range is comparable to that of the Weir. (Depending on the way the wind is blowing on a particular day, maybe a smidge higher.)

Posted on Saturday, November 16, 2002 - 8:37 pm:

Paddy:

Please let me know which Adobe product you are using and I'll try to help you.

Here's how you do it in Photoshop 5.5: Select Image Size from the Image menu. You want to change the Resolution of the picture to 72 dpi (100 dpi at most) WITHOUT Resampling. If they are becoming postage stamp size when you change the Resolution, you have to turn OFF the Resample Image checkbox (it's probably turned ON by default).

Next, crop out as much extraneous picture as possible by using the rectangular selection tool and then selecting Crop from the Edit menu. If the picture is still physically too large, you could go back into the Image Size dialog and Resize it. I find that something around 500 pixels high is good for a full guitar shot. Be sure to turn the Resample Image checkbox back ON and then enter your height in the Height box (keep Constrain Proportions checkbox ON or the picture will get squished in one direction.)

The next step is where you'll reduce the file size the most: saving in JPEG format. Choose Save As from the File menu and rename to something different than your original file. After the Save As dialog disappears, you'll get the JPEG Options dialog so you can to set the level of compression. Turn the Preview checkbox ON so you can see the effect choosing different settings has on the image quality. Go as low as possible and watch how the size of the resulting file changes, in the lower left corner.

I hope this helps.

John:
Yes they look superb, almost every gig someone will come up and remark about the 2617, one guy told me that when he was young, he would purposely walk to the local music shop and stare at a blonde 2617 in the window, and he was really made up to see one again after 20 odd years. I personally think it is a classy colour and I love the smooth heel, I find it easier to play than the AS100 once you're past the 12th fret.
I think I could become psycologically disturbed if I lost or had the guitar stolen. [ pretty p*ssed off anyway]. ---still looking for an AM205.

Its debatable whether you should be on this discussion board as you have to be a collector, I think a minimum of two guitars constitutes a collection, and I think you only have one, and anyway it doesn't have proper knobs on. [get in touch with Orval for replacements].

John:

I think Mr Notorious' guitar is 76, [he's also the bass player in the band that I play in if you hadn't already guessed], no doubt he'll tell you him self. Its a set neck with a step in it, if that helps.
I tracked down an AM70 today, 1985 black. 7 1/2 out of ten and £549, although he would negotiate.
I did a keyword search and came up with loads of info, so I grabbed the stash and blasted off to see it. I was expecting to get a fairly fat/ thick tone, and have problems trying to avoid unwanted distortion. I used my own amp [mk 3 mesa], and also took along the 2617. After comparing guitars, I found the AM70 quite upper mid sounding and slightly lacking in the lower mid warm area, and it certainly didnt have as much output as the 2617. But there was absolutely no problem in the chord dept. and when I rolled the vol down there was no loss of top, unlike as100.
Another slight prob for me was the short bridge, I found it a little uncomfortable to play after the 2617, but thats me. As all Ibanez, it played like a dream, but I walked away without it for 2 reasons, 1, a small lack of depth, [which could be easily over come with E.Q.] and 2, I'm a poser, and like the look of the horns on the 205 ect, and I think he was asking too much.
If I had bought the AM70 before the 2617 I'd be saying the reverse

I just got somebody chucked off for shamelessly bidding on his own Fuji Gen Gakki Strat. That's pretty low. I am really wondering why my Arttist (?) doesn't have the curvey floral(?)design inlay on the front of the headstock below the Ibanez inlay?
Neither does it have the inscribed "Artist" trussrod cover. As you can see in the last photo.
In all other respects it seems like (I'm guessing) an AR100BK, maybie? I'm gonna love it no matter what, it plays/looks GREAT & I paid $200 for it...so. I really would like to know anything and everything I can about it. If anyone has a clue, I could use one!

Tubescorcher:

It's pretty simple. Copy the line below and then paste it into a new message.

\image{imagedescription}

Replace the words: "imagedescription" with any text that describes your image. It doesn't have to be a filename or path or anything special. "Myguitar" will do just fine.

Make sure that the image file you want to upload is:

1. 50k or less
2. it is in a gif or jpg format
3. you know exactly where the file is on your hard drive

Then press the Preview/Post Message button. The next screen should contain the text for your message and a small placeholder graphic that designates where you image is going to appear. If you don't see that graphic, you've done something wrong. Go back and fix the "image" tagline.

When everything is working, proceed to the next screen and follow the directions to locate the file on your hard drive. That's it.

Cheers all thought I'd post this here. After having tried to hold out for a hard shell case for my AS50 I decided to make one from an old Ovation case it was just the right measurements on the outside so I remade the inside to fit snugly. I just need one more item to fully pimp it. I'm looking for an Ibanez amp logo, the moulded one.
Amp Logo
It should fit snugly in the old Ovation indent.

Here's the case part done and finished on the inside
