Hi Jeff, Did the switch from the squared neck joints on the Weirs and Artists have any sonic or other differences besides cosmetic than the smooth heel versions ? |

Dermglass: Maybe someone with the exact same model and hardware could say for sure, but I'd have to say there was no change in sound because of the neck joint. There were other changes that occurred in these models, at the same time, that would affect the sound more. Such as going from Super 70s to 80s and switching from the ST bridge to the Gibraltar I with the brass sustain block. The half brass nut happened then, too. |

Thanks, concerning the brass sustain block, I had an Iceman 400 that someone had butchered for a Kahler. The sustain block had to be cut for the install revealing it to be cast from somethig other than brass, pot metal or aluminium perhaps. |
