Beto, I have an early 70's 2375 strat clone (not a silver series) and the pups in that also had "Excel" stamped on the bottom. I can only assume they're original. js |

The one I just got--guess it's a 2375 just before they started using the term "silver series"-- serial number K76***-- also has "excel" on all three single coil pups. Scott |

Hi Betoblues Please have another good look at the serial number: to my belief it's impossible that a Silver Series Strat has an A97XXXX number. Should that be A77XXXX? Kind greetz, Harry |

Hi Betoblues Wow! If the serial number really is A79xxxx then it's the latest I've heard of so far. Please send some pictures! Harry |

Hi Harry, good catch on that serial.I'm interested to see where this one leads.I believe country of sale may be a factor in this one.I always thought that Challengers replaced the Silver line though.I guess this proves that wrong. On another note,it's been a year and a half since my last post and I can't believe all the new names on the board. Is there an official count? We had our second daughter and time just got away from me.I have a lot of catching up to do. That's a one-piece headstock?!?!? A one-piece neck? Is the fretboard glued on? Scott |
