Does anyone know the maker or model of this guitar? I e-mailed the guy at myrareguitars.com and he said it was made it Japan. He thought it might be Teisco. I would really like to track down such a guitar. Thanks |

Yes, he's probably right, that it was made in Japan. My first thought was, that it was indeed a Hagstrom, but after taking a better look (and reading the ad better), I must come to the conclusion that Hagstrom would NEVER make such a STUPID headstock, because it really sucks. You need a very special string tree to lead the strings to the right slots in the nut. They made the functionality subordinate to the shape, and that's always bad. On myrareguitars.com I saw only one brand that uses this same stupid shape, and that is GOYA on their Rangemaster model. I see also a few features that look like Teisco features, but they are less convincing than this stupid tuner line-up on a concave headstock. So, I think it's a GOYA. http://www.myrareguitars.com/1960guitars.html Ginger |

"Surf"-guitars pop up every now and then. Here is one of them. Looks like there has been plenty of manufacturers and brands. http://www.huuto.net/fi/showitem.php3?itemid=50600 150 Juha |
