Hi, I was hoping I might be able to find out some info on my guitar. Specs or a manual, maybe value? It looks like a 994

It's hard to say what it's worth. At the moment what you have in your hands is a couple of problems to solve: MISSING PARTS. As long as it is incomplete, this guitar COSTS money. But if you FIND the missing parts, it will bring you money. So, what are you missing? - a BRIDGE, (guitar can function without it + do you know what to look for?) - a tremolo bar of an unknown type (do you know what to look for?) How about the rest of the neck? the headstock? the machine heads? Is there any brand/logo on this guitar? I haven't seen anything yet. So there will be no gold to dig for until your guitar is COMPLETE! But the body looks good, so it's not a guitar without potential for an expert. Take a look on www.myrareguitars.com to give you an idea of what you might need and what it might be worth IF you manage to get it restored. Ginger |

Hi Pawnshopjunkie First of all, could you add pictures of the headstock/neck please ? This model is a early 994 Maxitone (Ibanez, we know the story about the subbrandnames). The switcher are mounted on the lower level - first series. Dots ? The guitar looks not in bad shape, the scratchplate is not broken, no rusty parts, the color is not blury, clean and visible. (The pickups looks cool, i like the red color) Parts: This chapter is the worst case for 60s ibanez collectors. There are no parts to find, only when you buy a broken/damaged one and move the parts to the good one. I got 6 (six) old 60s ibanez at home, missing parts are the bridges, tuners, trem units. I search years ago, nothing to find :-( If you need some pictures of the lost parts, please visit my page - sixties-ibanez.com - and search for the chapter "Inside Ibanez" There are pics of the missing bridge. The value for a maxitone guitar is diffrent. For a hardcore collector, the maxitone brand is NOT A IBANEZ guitar :-( split the price in half. Is there a ibanez metal logo on the headstock, the price for a 100 % mint condition is between 250 - 400 $. Please add the pictures of the neck/headstock please, i let you know, what i think about a offer. Take care Hasy |

Thanks for the help. The bridge is not missing, I can't believe I posted the picture without it in. I will take some additional shots and post. Had trouble with the file size. Couldn't get it to be small enough. I will post pics tomorrow! Thanks again! MS |

You might want to download and install Irfanview. It's at www.irfanview.com, I believe. Free photo viewer, and very easy to resize photos. |
