Just wondering if Captain or anyone else can help me with wood types used on model 752 acoustics (made from '70 - '74?). The 1970 catalogue just says "Hand polished JET-BLACK top, back and sides"; is this just a way around saying "Cheap plywood painted black"?

Flatbag, it says in the catalogue that it has a fine grade spruce top with deluxe wooden marquetry around the soundhole, so yes its ply but not cheap ply :-)
The sides and back on most models around them were mahogany...except for the Maple body ones

This one also had the those cheap looking covered machine heads on it

Captain Ibanez:-)
