Well gang, I put it to you all. Where do we all go from here. Is a SG10 Stefan Grossman the next collectable acoustic guitar or do we still rely on the 70's Concord Series acoustics to give us the cliam to fame or do we just rest on our collective lorals and say that yes I have a "Law Suite Model"Les Paul copy and I am the Master?...B.S. No way Jose', you aint'...momma don't say "ain't" ! This thread is designed for your realistic juices....not ya wannabe juices! What ya O'l Cappy is looking for is the true forum... Get of ya grits and put them forward ! The Ultimate question is..where do we go from here? I say...thin line Artists, Reverse RG's...hey if Gibson can do it with Firebirds then we can do it better there. Lonestars ! SG Basses Ex Series RT Series and beyond ! This week I endorse all my friends at ICW. wether your a Cappy fan or a Cappy hater ( then I think ya Momma wears underpants with D holes in them...lmao) a joke guys and gals We got to move a bit forward to sought out the next Millenion of ICW fans Your thoughts ?....I await with open ears and eyes this weekend..why cause I home for once not doing Captain ibanez Roadshows...for your enjoyment. I agree Cappy there are a lot of new models that I enjoy and consider great axes. For example the AF85VLS. When I 1st got it I hated the frets and the sound of it. I gave it away for a while and got it back again. Its still stock and I've been using it all the time nowadays. That neck pickup is great with a crunchy distortion added to it. I think the Artcore line will be a collector's choice in years to come. Not just the AF105 but the lot. PS for us yanks what are d holes? |

Watch Chappelle's show if you want to know, specifically the player hater's ball. hahahahahaha, it is a shame that the 3rd season will not air. As far as the next collectibles, I like the idea of the rt 650 series (since I have two of them)becoming sought after. I also think that the ragtime acoustics are so under rated as far as playability, however since I have read the back threads I know that some folks really like them as well. Remember the SC series, the 620 and the 1620 prestige, they are fantastic instruments and getting harder to find by the day. I know that it is often discussed ad nauseum, but I wish there were more models that weren't entry level or korean stuff. I have been told that the SA2020 prestige is not very impressive in hand. Oh well, I would like to keep collecting into my 30's and beyond, but I don't see myself with a collection of artcores or sz's down the road. Cappy, when are you going to sell me a scruggs or custom agent??? |

I think the secret of the Ragtime Special is out as the price for them has gone up steeply in the last year or two. The AE series of the same vintage is just as nice when the price differential is taken into consideration but is still largely being ignored. Ace |

I think that anything Made in Japan will become collectable at some point, especially if Ibanez really moves all production away from Japan. I think MIJ ARs will continue to go up in value, possibly reaching Les Paul figures. Perhaps the MIJ RGs will become sought after. Older hollows and semis are always sought after. I bet AF200s will be popular. FG100s and FAs have nearly doubled in price in 5 years. AFs can't be far behind. With all the talk of Prestige models, I'm sure they will be very popular with collectors, because they are rare, unusual, ornate, and great guitars to boot. All things that made the vine models collectable. Maybe someday, anything made form real wood will be sought after. Who knows? -Sven |

Ok, so here is my hitlist for the next big things. A MD10 Marcel Dadi model would have to be right up there with only 24 built...I'm sure there is a thread still on here somewhere with pictures of it. RS1300 NT & TR & CS models AH 10 & AH20 Allan Holdsworth models RS1010 SL Steve Lukather model Proline Series AR350PLT model AM75CST model....when was the last time you saw a Edge tremolo on a Semi acoustic? VM1 Vinne Moore model AM400 MO model ultra thin body Artist from 1988. Also from that year the AE200DV model and the AL100WH model. The unusually shaped SR924QM for the bass players. Any thoughts ? Captain: Glad to have you back from your recent expeditions! Interesting choices. Here's my thoughts: Here's the thread on the Marcel Dadi model: Vintage & Custom Electrics » Marcel Dadi Custom Guitar. IMO, there's one thing that will keep the Dadi from becoming a runaway classic...it's ugly. You say that 24 were made? I would have stopped at one. For really limited production run guitars, I'd nominate any J-Custom as an instant classic. How about the S5040? Ooouuuu-lah-lah! That's the top-o-the-line S series, ever! I think all the RS1xxx models deserve lots more respect. I agree about the Prolines. But weren't all the Pre-Edge tremolos from that period subject to problems? Tell me what you see special in the AH models? I've never played either model, but the catalog makes them look like cheap, cookie-cutter guitars. Basswood bodies with a rectangular cutout. The rest is all hardware enhancements that didn't show up on any other models...so what good were they? Holdsworth didn't seem to stick around the Ibanez stable for very long. The AM400 (and the 300, for that matter) look very cool, but have not gotten the nearly universal acclaim from players that the AM205/200s has. Anyone with actual experience want to comment on that? I thought you were a Blazer fan? Isn't there one in that series that you would nominate? |

" They are totally different to the rest and GREAT guitars. Long scale, Slab Ebony fingerboard, BIG frets, Routed body, excellent tremelo system and superb build quality. Holdsworthdesigned it how he wanted it and he used it! Nothing wrong with basswood as a tone wood either. If you play one you see the difference in quality and it's big. |

I think the LR10 is going to be a collectible at some point. At the time it was 20% more than the AS200 and was the top of the range semi-acoustic. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard (say that in a Gibson dealership and it'll cost you $2000 ) Excellent pickups and build quality and more important in my opinion, subtle. No gold hardware and huge inlays, just a quality players instrument. A friend could have grabbed one and decided to save $250 by getting a Yamaha SA, but he is not happy and wished he's gone for the LR10 now afetr comparing the Yamaha (still an excellent guitar) and my LR10. It is one guitar I certainly won't be selling.. |

I got it mixed up above. My friend got a Ibanez AS series not a Yamaha.... Another friend got a Yamaha SA and that's excellent, but I'd still say the LR10 is one of the best ES335 style guitars ever made....just to clear up |
