hello again, ive been reading the bits on serial numbers and ive checked out the date your ibanez bit on ibanezrules... im a little confused, i ran a search and Mr. Roadstar posted on oct 25, 2001 production numbers on the luke saying 1674 were made. my serial number (L842198) suggests it was the 2198th one made??????? am i mistaken or is something awry? |

Guido, your serial number L842198 is translated into... L= December 84 = 1984 2198= 2,198th guitar built for that month. Now even though Steve has told you previously that there was 1674 RS1010's built, that info is correct. Where your confusion lies is that the 2198 number is equal to the overall production number of every guitar model that Ibanez makes for that month not just the RS1010 etc. I hope this clears up yet another mystery for yourself and all here at ICW.
