Hey there, I have an artist with serial number starting D80.. Neck thru, burst, etc. standard features, except it only has one mini-toggle for coil splitting. Any Artists I have seen from this time period have either 2 mini-toggles or none at all. Can you identify the exact model number? Thanks! |

Artistfirst: Does your guitar have MOP/Abalone blocks or dot markers? 22 or 24 frets. Of course, photos would be very helpful, if possible. |

Has MOP dots and 22 frets, ebony board, gold plated hardware. How do I post a pic? |

Artistfirst, I guess yours is an AR200. The color is AV or BK, right? The mini-toggle switch is for the "Tri-sound" function of the front (neck) PU. But, I don't think it's neck-thru. |

Artistfirst, Sorry! You wrote "burst," so, yours is AR200AV, I suppose. The model appeared in 1979, and (maybe) went out of the market at around the autumn of 1980. Please refer to the URL below. http://www.ivc.ca/misc/artist/ar200.htm |

Yeah, that looks like it!! Thanks man. I guess it was short-lived with the one tri-sound toggle. It was my first real guitar (bought new here in Canada in '80) and 6 more electrics later, it is still my "baby". I recently picked up a used AS-80 which I am having a lot of fun with. |
