Hi I need 1. a replacement pickguard & 2. a correct replacement potentiometer for my 1979 GB 20 single pick-up model. Please suggest a supplier, websites? Thanks folks, I really want to repair this and get it playing again. Any other quality pick-ups instead of the stock pick-up available on the market people have used and love the tone? I have used a Lollar Charlie Christian neck PU in a Telecaster and it is tremendous! Thanks again I am new to the forum. Take care. JR |

JR, Try looking online at Ibanez's website. Long time ago I went to my local music store looking to replace the decaying pickguard on my (previously owned) Gb10... Damn if they didn't have one in the parts bin, think I paid $10.00 for it. My tech about fell over laughing when I told him. Look on eBay too. Or consider replacing it with a wooden pickguard. Those damned tortoise pickguards are nasty little fellas when they're stuck in a case a long time. The outgassing does terrible things to finish, plating, binding and the inside of the case (especially right above where the pickguard is. |

These guys look like they can do the job for you, especially if you have the old guard or a template of what you want it to look like (cardboard). http://www.terrapinguitars.com/policies.htm |

No, YOU DO IT... Get a jewelers saw, a file, some sandpaper and scout out pieces of flamed maple or other exotic wood on eBay. Good cardio exercise and in no time you get exactly what you want. |
