Hey Captain, Are the new 2004 models USA the same as whats available elsewhere? I noticed on the website that there was an AW 1500 solid rosewood back and sides with a a spruce top that was not availabe in the USA. Why is that?

Also I recently bought an Artcore AF85vls under the assumption that it has large frets because i like them. so i get the guitar and the frets are small. now the USA website and catalog says the guitar comes with large frets and the Australia website has the correct specs and says small frets. I bought the guitar as a factory 2nd and thats why it was sight unseen so I suggest to those who order guitars without trying them be careful.

Hi Ibanezfreak, most of the time "downunder" we work off the USA catalogue, but this year it's a different situation. For 2004 Ibanez have released a entire full line dealer catalogue for all to drool over. This included the European and Japan Domestic stuff to with the exception of the J Custom models,so in this case there will be 2 catalogues for the public,a seperate electric and acoustic catalogues for 2004.At present the AW1500 model Artwood acoustic is the "top of the line" model and it retails in Australia for $2695.00 with it's plush lined case, but if it's not available in the States then they may have decided not to run that model over there, which is entirely up to the distributor to say which model will and won't work for their market. As far as the AF85VLS model goes and I'm sure that Spiro will agree with the Captain on this...that the fret wire used on this model is just right for it, you don't need Jumbo's on this baby.

Hope this calms you a bit more.

Keep on Rockin'

Captain Ibanez :)

Thnks Captain, I do have the 2004 dealer catalog. I have a friend who works at Hoshino usa who just gave me one. it is quite nice.As far as the jumbo frets are concerned I can deal with the small ones. I got a great deal on the guitar from my friend so I can't complain. And to JOHN, I found the aw1500 on one of the Europe sites.
