Put your thinking caps on peep's and set the way back machine for 1988.....ahh the Maxxas..tone chambers,,,funky trems...and groovy color's.

Was this Chuck Yeager's guitar to go beyond Mach 1 or was it a trodden down product that met consumer resistance....?

Played one once...lack of folding to purchase.

Your thoughts ?

Awsome, the Black one with the 1 pup looks like it screams way past 24 frets. Where are these things hiding today?

OK I got this info from a very reputable person who used to design those guitars and he said that only few prototypes were made with the 29 frets nek, still I'm puzzled by how many Maxxas were produced in total, as the proud owner of an MX2 I would be very interested to see what Cameron can share with us about crude numbers.

Been hunting a fair-priced MX forever. They're hard to come by in the US. :( The 29-fret MX-4 and MX-5 models were available in small numbers outside of N. America.

Very intriguing! I never knew the Maxxas guitars had tone chambers. I really like the design concept - the way the neck is attached, the semi-hollow wafer thin body. Nice headstock. The only thing that I don't care for is the pointy horns - maybe it would work for glam-rock :) I don't think the look withstands the test of time.

Hi Sven,

Just saw that you have up-dated your AM site with thumb-nail pictures. Nice feature. Do you need some pictures of an AM300?
