I'll start it off. Jennifer Batten: Wacko Jacko's lead guitarist and a GIT(Guitar Institute of Technology USA )legend in her own right,{yes Captain Ibanez still has a very large pic of Jen,sitting on the mixing console hanging on the wall of his house with her Custom USA 540 and her big blonde wig and no shoes on}. S440 player even had here own endorsee model..S540..late 80's early 90's...why ? Cause this wig wearing..and sometimes hat wearing, lovely young...yes Jen you still are and your O'l Cappy still loves you, used to love to twist S440 / S540 necks beyond repair...I bet JD can compare notes on this subject....and so on and so on. So whats your story...I'll bet that this thread will open a can of worms.I have some more insider secrets to tell...but I need to keep them a bit more guarded...I hope you will understand...oh BTW did I tell you about EVH and the 5150 Mark 2...let me check with Hartley Peavey first..! Paul Stanley says he can play any guitar he wants, so he chooses Silvertone???? From Ibanez to Washburn then Silvertone. This would seem to be a case of following the almighty $$$ if you ask me. By the way, how do I get an Ibanez endorsement deal? I've been playing them for almost 25 years and what do I get for my effort on their behalf? What, someone would actually have to SEE and HEAR me playing them (other than my kids and pets?) I suppose a record deal would help too. O.K., back to the woodshed. Paul Stanley is one that springs to mind. Still, who knows what goes on behind the scenes, as far as money,promotion,and the individual artists perception of themselves. I worked with almost everyone one of them They left not because of the guitars only three people did, Steve Lukature, Sanley Jordon and John Ambacrombie, All the rest left because they wanted Money and signature series guitars. We took people like Ricthie Kotzen, Blues Saracino, Vinnie Moore, Frank Gambali and about 30 other people that no one heard of, We seen their talent and made guitars for them, Then we promoted them in ads, they beacme big and companies like Yamaha and Washburn, Samick and Valley arts, Even Paul Stanley left (Not that we made him big) these companies promished them the world and Signature models, two guys that pissed me off were John 5 and Wes Borland from Limp Bizkit, The reason was They came to us because we made the best guitars but they left because of money, And usually not because of the players its the greedy managers. Ibanez only pays endorsers that have signature models, This is actually payment for the sales of the guitars. They get paid because its there design. Other Artists want the same level but how many signature models can you make? No one will buy them. I can't say what's going on now because I left for the same greedy reason, I know Jennifer Batten had some issues with the necks, But she never brought it to my attention,It would have been taken care of. In the begining it is the love of the instrument, In the end its cash. Now back to my Greedy world, Oh yeah you are being charged 99 cents a minute to read this. It will show up on your Visa bill.
