Dear All @ ICW, thank you for your input in the re-issue thread and what you would like to see in your Ibanez dealer to snap up into your collection.

What I would like to say and what I can say are two seperate things...but I can tell you eager beavers is that you will be impressed in what is going to be appearing in the next couple of years from Ibanez.
As we progress into the 21st century, happy days are ahead...even the though your Ol' Cappy has put your wants and needs forward to the powers to be today....we have to be patient.

The boys from Japan are very impressed that we are now past the 1400 members mark and that they are happy that the good O'l boys me, JD , Mr Rodaster, and Steve's Black Hole when he's awake are here for you all..keeping it real for all you Ibaneezer's out there and that your Ol Cappy's collum is being regularly visited by my contacts in Japan and they like what I'm trying to do for you all by Johns fantastic sight...yes John you are held in high regard for your work...but sorry mate no free guitars for you yet.

Lets just say that I printed off the last call collum and showed it to the boys and read it to them, now I thought that these requests could have been marketed under the banner of the "Master Series" but there where a few issues that came up that I can not explain here to you all...and please respect that for the position I hold in the inner circle !

In closing and I do look forward to your opinions on this, but discression is the common valour here , otherwise you could have your Ol Cappy on the doorstep for a handout if you know what I mean...be gentle, hey I have a go for you guy's...at least I try :)

My re-issue is a good deal..but its worth $5000 aussie and I know you Ol Cappy ain't worth that much to you. LMAO

But I will say in closing for tonight..open your mind cause there are so many great things ahead for all of us Ibanez fans. :)

Captain Ibanez :)

Hello Cap'n,

I found your after meeting briefing to be circular and vague as to hard details. I figured you couldn't really talk about it yet. I was kinda waiting for you to fill us in a little more before I got all excited....

Likewise what Tonedef said...

I had expressed an interest in seeing them reissue a Byrdland copy or even a good L5 copy. They could change a few small cosmetic details but keep the basic theme of a good fat and thin bodied archtop made with very high quality materials and BLOW companies like Gibson and Heritage out of the water with the quality I KNOW Ibanez could produce. A SERIOUS archtop guitar...

This is coming from a guy that has an older Ibanez GB-10 and wouldn't trade it for the world. Wish I had NEVER SOLD my '77 Byrdland copy... Yuo reading this HARRY ?!?!?!? ;-))))))))))))))

So show this email to the big shots Captain.

Captain, you are speaking in riddles.

Give it to us in plain English: "There will be re-issues but I'm forbidden from disclosing to you at this time which models they will be.

I will reveal more details when I'm allowed to".

Ahhh you guy's, common scene would tell you that I'm not going to be blabbing on the internet about whats coming in the next 12 months, please I have a job here...remember I'm on the inside. Bigmike, keep shopping on Ebay or look a bit further into the Artcore Range. Yes I did ask the question for you as for all but the answer is no for now!Mike I to suffer the "I wish I never sold that guitar" syndrome to so don't feel like you are alone out there.

I guess the wants and needs of the masses..and remember there are a mere 1400 of us here(which the guys are impressed with too I might add). hehe, are not something that the guys can tool up for in regards to a sale of perhaps 60 Artists or 25 FA series etc etc. It's a volume market so to speak these days on a worldwide scale and when you compare the Aussie market to the US market...and overall sales figures which you would be surpirsed by ...but I'm not even going to begin to get into that conversation.

It amazes the Captain , peoples perseption of what Ibanez is, and all about. Now I know this has been dragged out over various threads through the years, so lets let you all spend some quaility time in the ICW archives and see if you can answer your own questions. Even JD would agree with me that when your on the inside there are certain things that you can say and do...thats the politically correct world we live in...but at the end of the day, my job here on this wonderful website is to try and solve your questions..provide accurate information, try and clear myth's and fantasy heresay for you with out delving into to much whats new for you.

The truth is I took your comments..printed them out for the guys and let them read it then we had a good descusion about your input...I even offered the suggestion of call the re-issues the Ibanez Master Series..all Japanese made, 100 units world wide...but the answer for now is...NO, but never say never in this industry. I'll leave it at that and hope you can make your own asumptions from that. :)

Hi Capt'n,

I am an accountant so I know cost/profit drive most boardroom decisions. I do appreciate your helping to get ourselves heard. I can't speak for all of us but I'm pretty sure there are a few more here who feel the same.
