Kinda hard to fake that neck plate! It's unlikely somebody would "fake" a cheap guitar.

There was a TR series of bases, but I don't recall ever seeing a TR guitar. Probably another "not for USA" item.

The products we see here in the US are only a part of the Ibanez brand. Different markets get different products. I am speculating that the TR Series guitars were not imported to the US.

Pre_chorus, that means eg. guitars and baSSes that were available on other marketing areas but excluding US of A. There are quite a few Ibanez related trademarks that were not available in the States, nor in Canada, and of course vice versa. Also there are lots of models made only for European market, and also those for domestic market, not to be distributed outside Japan..
Often there are no differences, beside the name on the headplate, but sometimes there are even particular models, totally different in appearance eg. finish, or other specs..

Steve, looks like they found a order of old blank Roadstar necks, popped them down to the screen printers....and hey presto you have an Ibanez TR series that looks like a Cimar badged one I got in a old cattledog...at the office now , but will do a bit of homework on this....it's going to fall into a spot production catagory no doubt ! Hmm...just as I suspected...a spotty model..leftover bits from the Cimar 2070 and 2071 models and Roadster pickguards..etc. It's amazing the bargain bazzar stuff that turns up here from time to time...but one would not expect anything less from the true innovators of the modern electric guitar...and acoustics and basses.
