I would assume so in a round about way and in true Oz "G'day mate" fashion. You must be sick of it from me by now but the 2676 please!!!! Especially as: We haven't even seen or heard of an original one...yet. The colour is mouth watering It's an Artist model We all love fancy inlays It's shaped like a Les Paul I love Les Pauls! And it MUST have the regular stop tail, and bridge and Script logo Super 70's as per the original please. Oh and Star tuners too. Truth is, I probably wont be able to afford the reissue now that I've spec'd it so high! six |

Not really a reissue so much, but I would like to see the SA line expanded, in the same way the Roadstars were in the '80s. This would include different pickup configurations including an S-S-S strat option. The current finish options leave me luke warm. I especially dislike the pimped out SA220 with mother-of-toiletseat binding and the fugly colors. Some higher end figured top and binding options would be nice. The SA is aimed at traditionally minded players, how about some more appealing finishes, and some midrange models? A few thoughts would be: cherryburst or amberburst over figured maple, or a tobaccoburst. Or you could even get more into PRS territory with faux binding and exotic stained tops. Maybe a fixed wraparound bridge option? -Sven |

Number One Request for Reissue: I'd like to see the Lonestar 520dv reissued without the finish that clouds up, and better setup. The pickups/wiring/neck/color/woods/cool-looking top can stay the same. I don't want any eq controls hanging off the side. Keep it simple. Why not also a Lonestar 550ny, which never existed, but make it the same guitar as the 520 with a different headstock and bridge for nylon strings? I'd buy one of each if they were done right. I assume they would be affordably constructed in Korea. Call them the Lonestar Pro series. Number Two: The Ibanez book showed an original custom shop Ghostrider with a book matched flame maple top. I wonder how different the factory produced one was different from the custom shop one, originally called the Voodoo Cowboy. People complain about the neck joint on the Ghostrider. Maybe it was better on the Voodoo Cowboy, as well as other things. And P90's should be an option-- the same ones as on the GR220. (Who made those P90s? Very nice!) Why everything has humbuckers instead of P90s is beyond me-- much better clarity, great bottom, and the 220's I have are quite quiet. Maybe what I am asking for is to not reissue the Ghostrider, but release the original Voodoo Cowboy which was never manufactured in a factory as far as I know, with a P90 option. Put me down for one of those, especially if the colors include a cool shade or blue ( a bit lighter than medium) or green (also a bit lighter than medium), and trans honeyburst with flame maple. I would be very happy to provide more details to Ibanez as forgive me but I have to say their color choices for many years have been off for me. Third Choice: Black Eagle bass, and don't change a thing!!! Wow-- would that be cool! All of these would be! The Carved Concept: Remember those guitars in the 70's with eagles and whatever carved into the bodies? Ibanez made a few, although those were strat copies which can't be made today-- strats look weird with non strat headstocks. Take the carved eagle/dragon/whatever concept to an old, current, or new line of models. Maybe modern machines can carve them inexpensively. Done right, they have some serious cool factor. Radical Reptilian Paint Schemes: Many reptiles, especially snakes, have some very colorful patterns-- Eastern kingsnake-- Eastern box turtle (if you have one with lots of golden yellow contrasted with black shell background)-- the various morphs of Blair's kingsnake, etc.-- many more. And there's also various Amazon poison dart frogs-- very cool! Let these natural patterns inspire new Ibanez paint jobs. |

I am already familiar with that website. Some of those are really cool in my book, but there are too many skulls. Some of the work is quite dark. I was thinking about looking back to the golden age of Electro Harmonix and those ads-- that kind of graphic design... and with the resurgence of interest in the Lord of the Rings, those mystical kinds of beings carved on a guitar tastefully carved could be really cool. Okay: I've come up with something supercool!!! Rerelease the Black Eagle bass AND its companion: THE BLACK EAGLE 6 STRING GUITAR with the same style pickguard, fretboard inlays, headstock-- the whole works! Wow!!! I would wait in a long line at NAMM to get one of these!!!!!!! |
